Important Updates to the PNSR

Provider Network Status Report (PNSR)

  • Users who only occasionally look up providers may find this tool easier to use than the EXCEL version of the PNSR.
  • You can search by either National Provider Identifier (NPI) or L&I Provider ID.
  • This new lookup tool has the same information as the EXCEL version of the PNSR, except there is only one name field (no separate first, middle and last names).
  • The link to the Microsoft Excel spreadsheet will still be on L&I's Self-insurance web page, for those that prefer working with spreadsheets or need to perform more advanced filtering and sorting of results.

September 27, 2013: Important update to PNSR: Two new values are now appearing in the Program Code field of L&I's Provider Network Status Report (PNSR): 91 (Group Health Cooperative COHE) and 92 (Western Washington COHE). Please remember that the Program Code field is used both for special programs (e.g. COHE and Ortho-Neuro Surgeon Quality Pilot) and network status codes, which are preceded by an "N". The new codes are also included in the Program Codes tab of the updated Definitions Look-Up Table, (link located near the bottom of the PNSR webpage ).

There is currently only one self-insured employer enrolled in COHE, so the new 91 and 92 program codes will not be relevant to payment for the majority of PNSR users at this time.

September 4, 2013: The current PNSR has been removed from the web. The "Enhanced PNSR" is now referred to as the "PNSR".

August 1, 2013: The current PNSR is scheduled to come off the web on September 3, 2013. Make sure you have systems set up to use the Enhanced PNSR (see both PNSR versions).

June 26, 2013: The Enhanced PNSR is now available on the web. Read the PNSR Enhancement (602613) (359 KB PDF) for details.

May 15, 2013: If you are currently or planning to write scripts to automatically download and import the PNSR into your systems; then read this important update (180 KB).

March 15, 2013: New data element for PNSR (250 KB PDF). Open to read more and give your feedback on the "Washington State Department of Labor & Industries PNSR Enhancement."

December 27, 2012: The Definitions Look-Up Table and PNSR Record Layout and Data Dictionary have been updated. Please see the "Change History" sections of those documents.

December 27, 2012: The PNSR Questions and Answers has revised answers to the following questions:

  • How often is the PNSR updated?
  • Does the PNSR contain names of providers who have applied to the MPN, but whose network status has not yet been determined?
  • Why arenít there more specialties available in the data for Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners (ARNP)?
