How can I file electronically?

There are 3 options to file electronically:

User ID and password

  • Expand or collapse What is a user ID?

    A user ID is the name used to access certain programs, web sites or networks. Each individual chooses their user ID and password. User IDs and passwords cannot be shared. You can apply for a user ID and password at the Welcome to SecureAccess Washington screen.

  • Expand or collapse Does a user ID and password cost anything?

    No. A user ID and password are free.

  • Expand or collapse How do I apply for a user ID, password and register for Provider Express Billing?
    1. From the Welcome to SecureAccess Washington screen, select 'Register for SecureAccess Washington!'
    2. Complete the registration form and select 'Register.'
    3. You will be sent an e-mail containing a 'registration code' with a link to activate your account.
    4. By selecting the link in your e-mail, your account will automatically be activated.
    5. The link will take you to the SecureAccess Washington screen confirming the activation of your registration. Select the 'Login' link to access your account and login with your user ID and password.
    6. Once logged in to SecureAccess Washington, select 'Add Service' under the 'My Account' tab.
    7. On the 'Add Service' screen select the section where you can choose a state agency. Scroll to Department of Labor & Industries and select 'View' from the right-hand column.
    8. On the 'Apply for Access to a Service' screen, select 'Apply' next to Provider Express Billing.
    9. A registration screen will appear.

    At this point you may register for Provider Express Billing and enroll a provider number(s) so that you may submit bills and receive remittance advices.

  • Expand or collapse How do I choose a user ID?

    Your user ID needs to be unique and cannot be the same user ID that you have used or are using with L&I or any other state agency for online applications.

    Your user ID:

    • Can be at least 1-32 characters long.
    • May use letters (a-z, A-Z), numbers (0-9) and the following special characters (- _ @).
    • Should not contain any part of your full name.
  • Expand or collapse What do I do if I forget my user ID?
    1. Go to the SecureAccess Washington Login screen.
    2. Select 'Forgot Your User ID?'
    3. Provide your e-mail address.
    4. You will receive an e-mail with instructions.
  • Expand or collapse What are some tips on choosing a password?
    • Make sure your password is different from your user ID.
    • Avoid using easily guessed passwords, such as a spouse's or child's name, phone numbers, birth dates, etc.
    • Passwords must:
      • Be a minimum of 8 characters long,
      • Contain at least one special character (!, @, #, $, %, etc.), and
      • Contain 2 of the following 3 character types:
        • A combination of upper and lower case letters,
        • Numbers, and
        • Special characters.
  • Expand or collapse How do I protect my password?
    • Do not share your user ID and password with anyone.
    • Change your password regularly (i.e. every 60-90 days).
    • Log off or lock your computer terminal before leaving it.

    • Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher
    • Netscape 6.2 or higher
    • Firefox 1.0.3 or higher
  • Expand or collapse Why can't I logon to SecureAccess Washington?
    • Be sure you have:
      • Registered with SecureAccess Washington (SAW)
      • Be sure you activated your registration with SAW.
      • Be sure you are using the correct User ID and password you registered with SAW.
    • Close your browser. Open a new browser and attempt to login again.
    • The system may be experiencing technical difficulties. You can contact the SAW customer support at http://support.secureaccess.wa.gov/contact_us_su.shtml.
  • Expand or collapse Why can't I access Provider Express Billing when logged into SecureAccess Washington?
    • Be sure you have:
      • Applied for Provider Express Billing (PEB) services through SecureAccess Washington (Add Service).
      • Be sure you have established a PEB PROVIDER relationship (Request Access).
      • Be sure you have activated your PEB PROVIDER relationship via the Activation Code letter mailed to you as the Access Manager or your Access Manager has approved your request for access.
    • PEB may be unavailable due to system maintenance or the system is experiencing technical difficulties. You can contact the Electronic Billing Unit at 360-902-6511 or ebulni@LNI.wa.gov
  • Expand or collapse When is the system available?

    Provider Express Billing is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, except for scheduled maintenance from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. on Sundays.

    You can use any of these fax numbers:
