CMS launches Road to 10 Webcast Series

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has released a new webcast introducing the “Road to 10” tool. Accessible through the “Road to 10” link on the CMS.gov website, the webcast covers the history of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD) and the benefits of ICD-10. This is the first in the new “Road to 10” webcast series. Five more webcasts will follow—all aimed at helping small practices get ready for ICD-10 by the October 1, 2015, compliance date.

Onehealthport is an excellent source for ICD-10 readiness information. A collaborative workgroup of provider organizations, regional and national health plans, payers and clearinghouses have developed information resources to assist organizations in their preparation for ICD-10.

L&I is participating with this workgroup to develop resources for our customers and give our providers one place they can go for information.

L&I is adopting ICD-10 to align with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and industry standard. With less than one year to go until the October 1, 2014, ICD-10 compliance date, now is the time to assess your progress. CMS continues to work with health care organizations to develop and distribute a variety of resources to help you with your ICD-10 planning and preparation. The CMS website has updated their list of provider resources to include a helpful introduction to ICD-10, an implementation guide, federal timelines and checklists.
