L&I receives and processes electronic bills faster - usually within two weeks as opposed to nearly 2 months for paper.

You can fax in your chart notes separately so they are available when the bill arrives

No more waiting for a month or more on a paper bill only to find out it was denied. By billing directly in the HIPAA compliant EDI format or through a clearinghouse, you can know virtually immediately if your billing has been accepted.

Free and low-cost options for billing L&I electronically are available through various software vendors and clearinghouses. Examples of these options include but are not limited to www.freemedicalclaims.com and www.cortexedi.com. You have the freedom to select any software vendor or clearinghouse that meets your business needs.
