Service Alert

If there's a state government shutdown due to lack of a 2017 – 2019 Washington budget, many services provided by the Department of Labor & Industries would not be available starting July 1. L&I has a full list of service interruptions should there be a full or partial shutdown.

Top Tier

The Top Tier of the Medical Provider Network will be a select group of providers that can demonstrate the use of occupational health best practices. Providers qualifying for the Top Tier will be eligible to receive financial and non-financial incentives.

The Top Tier will initially use an application process that will assess the following components:

  • COHE best practices
  • Additional occupational health training
  • Quality improvement focus
  • Care coordination and communication resources
  • Complex claim review

Planning for Top Tier implementation is currently underway. Given limited resources, we are working to determine how best to coordinate Top Tier implementation at the same time as other important programs. Our goal is to avoid confusion and support medical provider participation in all the workers’ compensation reform efforts.
