L&I has prepared guidelines for the following ankle and foot surgeries:
- Fusion to treat non-union or mal-union of a fracture of the ankle, tarsal or metatarsal bones.
- Fusion to treat traumatic arthritis secondary to an on-the-job injury.
- Reconstruction of the lateral ligaments of the ankle for chronic instability or acute strain/sprain inversion injury.
