The Game Ready™ system is not covered for State Fund or Self-Insured claims.

The Game Ready™ system is used to reduce pain and swelling after knee or shoulder surgery. It pumps cold water through a sleeve around the affected limb and provides intermittent compression by inflating and deflating the sleeve. The device is classified by the Food and Drug Administration as a massager and cold water cooling system. The Game Ready ™ system is not approved for marketing or use as a pneumatic compression device to treat or prevent deep vein thrombosis.

There is insufficient evidence to show the Game Ready™ Accelerated Recovery System is more effective and safe compared with the traditional treatment of rest, ice, compression and elevation (RICE).

Additionally, due to the FDA classification, the Game Ready™ device is considered a personal appliance and is not authorized per WAC 296-20-1102.
