L&I launches redesigned website for health-care providers
L&I has redesigned its Web site for health-care providers to make it easier to use. The new site is available at http://providers.Lni.wa.gov.
"We hope you like the changes. We heard you when you told us it was hard to find information on the old site and we've worked hard to make improvements," said Janet Peterson, program manager for L&I's Health Services Analysis. "Many health-care professionals and their staff around the state provided input and contributed time to this effort — I thank you for your partnership."
Improvements to the provider site
- A streamlined home page made up of common tasks.
- A "What's New" area highlighting recent changes to policies and services.
- A "Condition and Treatment Index" so providers can easily find information about authorization, coverage, and treatment.
- Reorganized content and clearer titles so customers can find what they need.
- Rewritten content for pages that were confusing or hard to understand.
Research basis for the new site
- L&I used interviews and surveys to better understand how health-care providers interact with L&I and use its website.
- Research activities included treatment professionals and their administrative staff in a variety of clinics and settings.
- A group of providers participated in a usability study of a prototype of the new site and L&I made final changes based on their feedback.
Continuous improvement of L&I's website
L&I's redesigned provider site is part of a longstanding commitment to directly involve customers in website improvements. In 2005, L&I won numerous awards on its redesigned website for employers and workers. Recognition included "The People's Voice Award for Best Insurance website," a Webby Award, the leading international honor for websites.
