Anne Soiza was appointed Assistant Director for the Division of Occupational Safety and Health in March of 2012. She started with Labor and Industries in 1987 in what is now the Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH). She has a bachelor of science degree in Chemistry from Willamette University and worked in the chemical industry in the midwest before joining L&I.
During her years with L&I, she’s had several jobs. She worked in two regions as an IH inspector and IH regional supervisor. She worked in the central office as a technical policy specialist for confined space, respirators, construction IH issues and process safety systems management. She then was promoted to the senior program manager for Training and Outreach in 1998 and Compliance in 2007.
She left the department to become the Director of Pipeline Safety at the Utilities and Transportation Commission in 2008. She returned to L&I in November 2009 as the Deputy Assistant Director for DOSH.
Anne is from a registered pioneer family in Thurston County and resides in Tumwater with her husband.
