Tamara Jones, Assistant Director, Legislative and Governmental Affairs

Tamara Jones was appointed Assistant Director for Legislative and Governmental Affairs in July 2010.

Before joining L&I, Tamara was the Legislative and Tribal Liaison for the Department of Information Services (DIS) from November 2005 through June 2009. Before her time at DIS, Tamara was the Policy Director for North Carolina Lieutenant Governor Bev Perdue from May 2002 through May 2005.

Tamara started her career in state service by serving as the Legislative Assistant for Washington State Senator Ken Jacobsen, representing northeast Seattle's 46th Legislative District.

Tamara is from Tacoma, Washington, and has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Washington and a Master of Arts degree from the University of Washington, Tacoma.

Tamara is a proud Army wife, married to Maj. Chris Jones. Tamara and Chris have a daughter, Sierra.
