L&I asks workers to help improve communication on workers' comp claims

Injured workers are being asked to help L&I improve a commonly-used form that we have discovered sometimes confuses the workers we serve.

In April, a group of injured workers will be invited to L&I to "walk through" how they would fill out the form, which is commonly used to gather important information needed to manage a workers' compensation claim. L&I will use what it learns to make the form more understandable and easier to use. In turn, that will help L&I manage claims more efficiently, resulting in better service to injured workers and their employers.

The workers are being recruited by Ipsos Reid, L&I's customer research contractor, based on a list of workers who have active workers' comp claims. They will be known to L&I by first name only so they can be confident that their participation in the project cannot affect their claim.
