Know the hazards!

Wind turbines are another form of power generation. Workers who install and maintain these wind turbines are exposed to these hazards:

  • Electrocution.
  • Falls from heights.

This can result in hospitalization for injuries, permanent partial disability, and in some cases, death.

Employers can reduce injury risk to the employees by taking preventive measures:

  • Address all hazards in an effective accident prevention program.
  • Provide training to workers.
  • Conduct a hazard assessment for the use PPE.
  • Conduct a job hazard analysis.
  • Hold onsite job safety meetings.
  • Implement a fall protection work plan for the job site.
  • Provide and require the use of fall protection.
