Wind turbines are another form of power generation. Workers who install and maintain these wind turbines are exposed to hazards such as:

  • Electrocution;
  • Falls from heights.

This can result in hospitalization for injuries, permanent partial disability and in some case death.
Employers can reduce injury risk to the employees by taking preventive measures such as:

  • Addressing all hazards in an effective accident prevention program;
  • Provide training to workers;
  • Conduct a hazard assessment for the use PPE;
  • Conduct a job hazard analysis;
  • Hold onsite job safety meetings;
  • Implement a fall protection work plan for the job site;
  • Provide and require the use of fall protection.
