Line Clearance Tree Trimming is one of the most dangerous task's that we undertake in our industry and is often one that is overshadowed by the other parts of the trade. Workers who perform this work are exposed to hazards such as:

  • Electrocution;
  • Falls from heights;
  • Sever cuts and lacerations;
  • Coming into flying/swinging objects.

This can result in hospitalization from injuries, permanent partial disability and in some case death. Employers can reduce injury risk to the employees by taking preventive measures such as:

  • Addressing all hazards in an effective accident prevention program;
  • Provide training to workers;
  • Conduct a hazard assessment for the use PPE;
  • Conduct a job hazard analysis;
  • Hold onsite job safety meetings;
  • Implement a fall protection work plan for the job site;
  • Provide and require the use of fall protection.
