All Boeing and non-Boeing candidates may apply for open positions that are posted through the Boeing Global Staffing on-line requisition system at http://www.boeing.com/careers during the advertised application acceptance period. Applicant minimum qualification requirements will be clearly stated on the requisitions. Individuals who do not meet minimum the qualifications will receive an auto-notice encouraging then to apply when the minimum requirements have been met. Applicants may apply for one or more apprenticeship program.

All applicants for an apprenticeship must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age; be eligible for hire or rehire at Boeing;
  • have never been enrolled in or completed an IAM/Boeing Joint Apprenticeship program;
  • have a GED or a high school diploma;
  • have US person status;
  • meet specific defined vocational training or trade related work experience requirements for the apprenticeship program being applied for;
  • be able to perform the physical requirements of the apprenticeship.

For the Industrial Electronic Maintenance Technician Program applicants must be able to distinguish between primary colors.

The Stationary Operating Engineers trade includes operation, maintenance and repair of many types of equipment. From basic plumbing tasks to very complex tasks such as the installation, operating, maintenance, repair and overhaul of boilers, diesel generators and many other types of equipment.
The minimum qualifications for applicants:
Age: Shall be 19 years of age at time of application.
Education: Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
Physical: Must be able to meet needs of the trade.
Other: Must have valid Washington State Driver's license and dependable transportation. Applicants must be able to write and speak the English language proficiently enough to complete the required course of study.
Note: Applicants must provide photocopies of birth certificate, valid driver license, High School Diploma or GED when making application. (Official transcript shall be required prior to interview).
The selection is a three part process including an application, questionnaire, and interview.
The term of apprenticeship for this program is a minimum of four ( 4) years, or 8000 hours.
Applicant selected to take part in the program will receive a combination of on-the-job training and class room instruction. Program completion is required to receive a journeyman card.

City of Tacoma — Water Division Apprenticeship Committee (Program 59)

Occupation: Potable Water Supply and Service Worker

Applicants for this program must first be hired as a Water Utility Worker through the normal City of Tacoma highering process. Job openings can be viewed: www.cityoftacoma.org/Page.aspx?nid=7

Once hired as a permanent Water Utility Worker, individuals must serve a nine-month probationary period. After three months of probation, candidates are eligible to apply to the apprenticeship program and are accepted pending available space. All permanent Water Utility Workers are required to enter and successfully complete the apprenticeship training within three and a half years from their permanent hire date.

Water Utility Worker Minimum qualifications;

  • Pass the Civil Service Water Utility Worker entrance examination with 70% or greater score.
  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license with maintenance thereafter.
  • Successfully complete a Tacoma Water math class prior to completion of probation and Tacoma Water’s Apprenticeship Program within three years and six months from date of hire.
  • Obtain a Commercial Driver’s License Class “A” with air brake restriction removed, a valid First Aid Card and Flagging Certificate with maintenance thereafter prior to the completion of the probationary period.
