Model Shoe Policy for Teen Restaurant Safety

To prevent slips and falls use:

  • Slip-resistant soles with a good tread.
  • Shoes that are laced and tightly tied.
  • No leather or smooth soles.
  • No open-toed shoes.
  • No platform or high heels.
  • No dress shoes.
  • No porous fabrics such as canvas.


Some shoe manufacturers have products with slip-resistant soles and also provide special employer purchasing arrangements.
