Wenatchee service center hosts open house in new offices

WENATCHEE - The state Department of Labor & Industries will host an open house at the agency's new offices across the Columbia River in East Wenatchee on April 24 from 12 to 7 p.m., according to Jeanne Guthrie, field service coordinator for the office.

She said the event is open to the public, business owners, employers and anyone else interested in touring the new offices, meeting staff and learning about the varied services that the agency provides. These services range from workers' compensation and workplace safety and health to consultations and specialty inspections.

The new offices are located in a converted retail store at 519 Grant Road (near the eastside Safeway Store).

Guthrie said the new offices relieve severe overcrowding in the old offices, which are located on Ohme Gardens Road at the north end of Wenatchee. In addition to the more central location, the new offices provide more counter space for walk-in business and improved parking and public access.

A map with directions to the new offices is available by contacting Guthrie at 509-886-6599.
