L&I presents Tesoro investigation findings

MOUNT VERNON – On Monday, Oct. 4, 2010 about 11am P.D.T., the Department of Labor and Industries (L&I) announced the results of its investigation of the Tesoro refinery disaster. Seven people were killed when an explosion occurred at the Anacortes refinery on April 2, 2010. L&I conducted a six-month investigation to determine what happened and whether there were any violations of state workplace safety and health regulations.
Speaking at the news conference which was held in L&I’s Mount Vernon's regional office a few miles from the refinery are L&I Director Judy Schurke and Michael Silverstein, Assistant Director for the Division of Occupational Safety and Health.
