Attending Provider's Return to Work Desk Reference (RTW) Exam

How do I start?

To prepare for the CME Self-Assessment Examination, please read the 60-page "Attending Provider's Return to Work Desk Reference".

This examination is "open book".  You may find it helpful to print the handbook for reference, as you will be referring to it throughout.
Note: L&I does not have a system for reprinting or retrieving certificates. We recommend that you print multiple copies of your certificate for your records or save it electronically.

How much time will it take?

    • After reading the handbook, it should take approximately 30 minutes to complete the activity (20 questions).
    • You must finish the activity in its entirety before clicking "Submit".
    • After clicking "Submit", your score will immediately be determined.  If you have a passing score (70% or greater), you will be able to print your certificate for up to three (3) hours of Category 1 Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit, immediately following the completion of the activity.

Why Return to Work (RTW) is in Your Patient's Best Interest

As a treating provider in workers' compensation, your primary duty is to your patient and their successful recovery. Not only do you give them the best possible clinical care, you want them to have the best possible overall recovery from their occupational illness or injury.

If at any point you close out of the activity by closing your browser window, be aware that your answers will not be saved and you will need to restart the activity over again.

Thank you for your participation.
