Slips, trips, and falls can happen suddenly and without warning.

Did you know that slips, trips, and falls can happen in any part of the workplace, inside or outdoors regardless of the industry you work in?

Yes, it is true. Some of the issues that can lead to workers, and even work site visitors, being exposed to these hazards are the following:

  • Distracted walking (listening, playing, or talking on devices).
  • Uneven floors.
  • Poor housekeeping (spills, slippery floors).
  • Weather (wet/icy conditions).
  • Clutter of loose cords.
  • Unsecured rugs and mats.

This can lead to serious injuries and even death.

Eliminating hazards such as these starts with your written Accident Prevention Program which should address how to identify, report, and correct hazards before someone gets hurt. Awareness training, good housekeeping practices, and a positive safety culture at work help keep everyone safe.
