WISHA 10 for Agriculture training of trainers

L&I's Division of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH) offers this training course to help seasoned and skilled agriculture personnel to become certified to teach the WISHA 10 for Agriculture 10-hour class.

The WISHA 10 for Agriculture is a no-cost, train-other-trainers (TOT) program within the agriculture industry. The participants that successfully complete this course will receive a WISHA 10 Certified Trainer Card and be authorized to conduct the WISHA 10 for Agriculture in the agriculture industry.

  • Length of course: 4-day course, with 32 course content hours.
  • Course prerequisites: Application will be required and review will include applicable work experience and training.
  • Intended audience/participants: Seasoned and skilled agriculture personnel with at least five (5) years of agriculture safety and health work or professional experience.
  • Objective: Participants will receive instruction on adult learning principles and presentation skills. All participants will facilitate exercises and present WISHA 10 for Agriculture material to demonstrate their skills and abilities as a WISHA 10 Trainer. Participants who successfully complete this course will receive a WISHA 10 for Agriculture Certified Trainer Card and be authorized to conduct WISHA 10 for Agriculture training within the agriculture industry.

Successful participants will be able to do the following:

  • Find the Safety and Health Standards for Agriculture, Chapter 296-307 WAC.
  • Identify the common causes of incidents in hazardous areas of Agriculture.
  • Identify abatement techniques for hazards found in Agriculture. 

This course will be offered at no cost.

  • Applied adult learning theory using the Tell, Show, Do Feedback model.
  • Using PowerPoint Presentations and video clips.
  • Presentation Handouts.
  • Interactive Exercises.
  • Chapter 307 WAC Safety Standards for Agriculture.
