About the Vendor and Mobile Medical Unit Advisory Committee

A new law that went into effect in June 2016 (SHB 2443, RCW 43.22.360(1)) requires the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries to inspect all food trucks. Previously, food trucks used outside Washington for six months or more were generally exempt from state standards. The purpose of the Vendor and Mobile Medical Unit Advisory Committee is to provide L&I counsel on requirements the agency will use to review plans for food trucks and other vehicles that provide medical treatment beyond trauma care. Membership on the committee is established under state law.
