Holiday Staffing and Billing Cutoff

The holidays are coming! That means the Department of Labor & Industries (L&I) will operate with fewer staff than usual between Thanksgiving and Christmas, so it might take us longer than normal to answer your emails and messages. We appreciate your patience.

For billing questions, email Provider Hotline at PHL@Lni.wa.gov. If you prefer a phone call, email us your name and contact number in the subject line.

Important upcoming dates:

  • Friday, Nov. 11, is a state holiday. Billing cutoff will be Thursday, Nov. 10.

  • Thursday, Nov. 24, and Friday, Nov. 25, are state holidays. Bill cutoff will be Wednesday, Nov. 23.

  • Monday, Dec. 26, the day after Christmas, and Monday, Jan. 2, the day after New Year's Day, are observed state holidays. L&I will not be open for business.

If you need specific claim information or a copy of a claim, you can save time by calling:

When calling a claim manager directly, please have the claim number available.

Some claim managers have voice mail. When leaving a message for the claim manager, please include all of the following:

  • Your name
  • Phone number
  • Claim number

Your local L&I service location has a customer service specialist (CSS) able to access much of the information you need.

If you need to get a message to your claim manager, the CSS may be able to send an email directly to the claim manager. After the claim manager receives your message, he/she will generally respond within 48 hours.
