More than $8 million in grant and project funds are now available, from the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries (L&I). This page details the funding opportunities, intent of the grants, and next steps.

On June 30, 2022, L&I posted a single application for multiple grants.

The funding opportunities include:

  • Technology and Remote Learning: $2.37 million.
  • Upgrading Equipment: $3.8 million.
  • Driver Education Course Voucher for Minors: $12,000.
  • Wrap-Around Support Services: $1.9 million

Applications will be accepted through the end of 2022. There is a June 30, 2023, deadline for applicants to spend any funding they receive.

The intent of these funds is to expand capacity for state-registered apprenticeship programs, provide equipment upgrades, and ensure apprentices have access to a broad suite of student support services.

Collectively, these funds make up one of the largest amounts L&I has ever distributed for registered apprenticeship. We hope interested and eligible programs will apply to take advantage of these opportunities.

If you have any questions, please email L&I’s Apprenticeship Program at or call 360-902-5320.
