Some common alterations require you to submit plans for review and approval when you buy a permit.

1. Find out when you need to submit plans

Check the fact sheets for your project at Protect My Manufactured Home to determine if you need to submit plans. The fact sheets cover the most common changes made to manufactured and mobile homes. For other changes that are not covered, please contact plan review staff at FAS1@Lni.wa.gov or 1-800-705-1411, Option 3.

2. Design plan fee and permit

  • A design plan fee must be paid when you purchase your permit. Ways to purchase a permit
  • You must submit your plan using one of the three methods below.

3.  Submit plans

Plans must be stamped by a Washington professional engineer (PE) or architect.
Ways to submit plans and a copy of your permit:

  • Email plans to:

  • Drop your plans off at the L&I office near you.

The process to review and approve the plans normally takes 2 to 3 weeks. Once reviewed and approved we will send you an official copy of the plans. The approved set must be onsite during all inspections.
