Contractor Training
There are both required and optional training opportunities for businesses who work on prevailing wage projects. The required training is necessary, under law, to bid on prevailing wage projects. The optional training offers guidance for businesses to use the online tools, such as the Contractor Portal and learning about prevailing wage requirements.
Training required for businesses
All businesses are required to have training before bidding and/or performing work on public works projects. Use the Verify a Contractor tool to see whether your business or other businesses need to take the training.
Note: You may continue working on a public works project that starts before July 1, 2019, and continues on or after July 1 without needing to meet this training requirement.
Who's exempt from the training
You are exempt from this training requirement if you've been in business with an active Unified Business Identifier (UBI) number for 3 or more years AND have performed work on 3 or more public works projects.
