Labor & Industries is considering changes to the electrical rules to adopt new safety codes, update and clarify existing rules, make housekeeping, and other changes. L&I filed a CR-101 Preproposal Statement of Inquiry on April 4, 2023. Additional information about this rulemaking can be found here.

In addition, L&I is proposing changes to WAC 296-96-945 through expedited rulemaking. Amendments to the rule are required to implement Engrossed Substitute Senate Bill 5320, Chapter 95, Laws of 2023. L&I filed a CR-105 expedited rule proposal on April 19, 2023. Additional information about this rulemaking can be found here.

An update on the status of these rulemakings will be provided during the quarterly Electrical Board meeting.
