Labor & Industries (L&I) is considering changes to the electrical rules to adopt new safety codes, update and clarify existing rules, and make housekeeping and other changes. L&I filed a CR-101 Preproposal Statement of Inquiry on April 4, 2023. L&I plans to file a CR-102 Proposed Rulemaking on November 21, 2023. Additional information about this rulemaking can be found here.

L&I is also planning to file a CR-101 Preproposal Statement of Inquiry on October 31, 2023, that considers increasing the electrical fees by the fiscal growth factor to support operating expenses for inspections and other Electrical Program services.
An update on the status of these rulemakings will be provided during the quarterly Electrical Board meeting.
