Labor & Industries (L&I) filed a CR-101 preproposal statement of inquiry to consider adopting new safety codes and for updates to the elevator rules under chapter 296-96 WAC on October 19, 2021, with an expected effective date of November 4, 2022. L&I also filed a CR-101 preproposal statement of inquiry to consider increasing the elevator fees by 17% on March 22, 2022, with an expected effective date of August 19, 2022. Updates on the status of these rulemakings will be provided during the quarterly ESAC meetings.
